TN Election Commission has floated tender to Private agency instead of giving it to BSNL. District Secretary Erode has sent Email to CMD,BSNL  expressing his displeasure…..

To: The CMD, BSNL

Respected Sir,

This is to bring to your kind notice about the injustice done to BSNL by the State Govt agency through Election Commission by denying the offer of providing BB connections and Telephone connections for the forthcoming TN assembly election on16th May 2016 for 234 constituencies.

Every state will award the work of providing communication facilities to BSNL but in TN state for the coming assembly election they awarded the work to a private agency namely UDF  from Coimbatore through tender process conducted by ELCOT a State Govt agency. We from Chennai Telephones District on behalf of both TN Circle & ChTD could not participate in the tender as they want 25,000 laptops and about 30,000 staff for arranging election process in TN State. So by conducting tender through ELCOT they awarded the work to an unknown agency UDF who does not have any infrastructure and experience. Now simply they award sub tender to private agency like Vodafone, Airtel for completion of this project. This is just a backdoor entry by private and this has spoiled the business of around 25 corers to BSNL. Moreover if the same is followed by other states we may lose a lot of business. Actually no tender should be allowed for such work as we the Central Govt Enterprise alone should be allowed to perform the task which is usually practised by all State and Central Govt sections especially for election in India both for parliament and state assembly. But this is the first time violation has happened which should be prevented by taking this case through our MOC to Home Ministry who can order Election Commission to place orders to our BSNL. This is prestigious for us and in no way we should allow private to enter. Moreover they did not assess the company which does not have any experience or infrastructure which are basic requirement for participating in tender. The date of election is on 16th May 2016  and counting on 19th May 2016. The Time gap is very very short. Even some Tamil publication say Dinamalar daily paper from Coimbatore has published the news on 8th may . So kindly intervene and arrange for placing orders to us.

With regards,

P.Senthil kumar
